Bedford Academy is celebrating excellent GCSE results again with more students than ever before returning for Level 3 study in its highly successful Sixth Form.
“I am so proud of these amazing outcomes for our students” said Claire Smith, CEO of HEART Academies Trust. “78% of our students secured at least one top grade and over 25% secured 3 top grades. This is a fantastic achievement and thoroughly well deserved by such hard working students, supported by such an amazing team of staff”.
Scott McGregor, Head Teacher of Bedford Academy added “We are once again delighted for our students. More than ever before have secured the grades they need to continue their studies in our Sixth Form. This year saw the first award of Grades 1-9 for new GCSEs in English and Maths and students have stood up to this challenge really well. We are delighted for Saajan Gill who achieved 3 Grade 9s, 5 A*s and 4As, for Joshua Hawking with 2 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 4 A*s and 2 As and for Adam Haque who secured 2 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8, 3 A*s and 6 As. Our award winning careers team will now be on hand to make sure all our students secure their first choice destinations to continue their successes.”
Bedford Academy places Character at the heart of its curriculum, developing the whole young person. Christine Highams, Chair of Governors, says “Bedford Academy aims to not only deliver the best possible academic outcomes for our students but also to raise their aspirations for their futures and ensure all continue into further study or training. These fantastic results mean that students are well prepared for their next steps and are ready to continue their successful journey in our Sixth Form or elsewhere. It is a testament to the development of students’ character that they have been able to do so well in the new GCSEs sat this year.”
