Cauldwell is an exciting, ever-evolving Primary School with a vibrant, multi-cultural community, providing excellent education for children aged 4 to 11 years. The school serves a rich mix of diverse cultures, faiths and languages in an inclusive, caring environment. At the heart of Cauldwell, is the belief that every child does matter and everyone strives to ensure that each and every member of the school community achieves their full potential.
The school originally opened in 1996 after a merger between Drake and Raleigh schools. It has been continuously developed since then to provide a superb learning environment. Built over two levels, the excellent school facilities include: two large assembly halls, a computer suite, spacious playing field and an all-weather pitch. An additional feature for early years learning at Cauldwell Primary is the quad; an enclosed area of garden within the school grounds where children learn about the environment and are encouraged to plant bulbs, flowers and vegetables throughout the year.
Cauldwell Primary follows the National Curriculum and was rated by Ofsted as a Good school in November 2021. It follows a creative curriculum model, which uses high quality texts to deliver an engaging, exciting, thematic programme. This is supported by the many varied opportunities provided to broaden children’s life experiences and raise aspirations. Examples are: trips, residential visits, visitors to school and public events to name a few.
The school encourages and values parent /carer involvement in school life and recognises the positive impact this can have on a child’s learning. We have a Parent Support worker who supports families to access quality education and offers parenting advice and guidance. This all has a positive impact on raising standards across the whole school and helps to further develop Cauldwell’s mission of being ‘Committed to achievement for all.’
