Goldington Green Academy welcomes new Headteacher

HEART Academies Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Michelle Woodhams as the new Headteacher of Goldington Green Academy. Michelle will take up the role on 3rd November for three days a week and then full time from 1st January 2027.

Michelle brings almost 20 years’ experience in education. She has spent the past seven years as Headteacher of a large primary school in Luton, and was previously Deputy Headteacher at a junior school in Stevenage.

To ensure a smooth transition, Michelle will work alongside the Trust’s interim headteachers, Anna Crawte and Clare Williamson, during a handover period before she takes up the post in full. They will continue to lead the school day to day until then, so pupils, families and staff can expect continuity throughout.

Michelle’s vision is for every child to feel they belong at Goldington Green Academy, feeling happy, safe and secure so they can thrive in their learning and personal development. Her early priorities are building a culture where every child feels known, valued and encouraged, developing strong relationships with parents and carers, and focusing on the quality of teaching and learning across the school.

Michelle said: “From my very first visit, I could see what a special place Goldington Green Academy is. I’m looking forward to building on the school’s many strengths and working closely with staff, families and the wider community so that every child can be the very best they can be.”

Michelle will be meeting parents and carers at a ‘Meet the Headteacher’ event in the coming weeks, followed by regular Parent Focus Sessions to hear families’ views and ideas.
