David Morris 

Chief Executive Officer

David Morris took over the role of CEO in May 2019, having previously been the CEO of two Trusts in Coventry and Leicester.  David’s role is the strategic lead in the Trust reporting to the Board of Trustees which is chaired by David Hoare.  

The role of the CEO within a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) has evolved considerably over the last few years reflecting the reality of the demands involved in overseeing a MAT.  From delivering and leading its vision and strategy, to managing people and culture, improving organisational performance, sustainability and building key external and internal relationships, the role is varied and requires the CEO to wear many hats. 
 
The CEO does not work alone.  The Board of Trustees has the ultimate responsibility for governance matters for the entire MAT.  It is essential for the Board and the CEO to have a cohesive relationship to ensure the Trust moves forward successfully.  A number of key appointments have been made to strengthen the Board over the last twelve months ensuring that a wide skill set is now in place to support and challenge the CEO.
